Europe is the home to many wonderful cities that you have to visit. 1. Barcelona, Spain

Berlin has a lot of history, mainly from the World Wars and the Cold War. Up next is another very common destination that has been on the rise in the last 10 to 15 years. Before it became a popular destination, Prague used to be one of the more affordable city breaks as well but after it grew in popularity, it has become a more expensive city break. For one of the warmer cities, Lisbon in Portugal is also filled with history about its culture. Lisbon is on the coast so you can enjoy catching rays of sunshine on the beach but if you are going for its history, you are likely not going to catch a sun tan.
Lisbon is a city where you can feel safe, no matter what time of day it is and its cuisine is fantastic. Additionally, Lisbon is home to many cathedrals and castles which show off the architecture that has been there for hundreds of years. 7. Istanbul, Turkey
Now heading to one of the warmer cities in Europe is Turkey and more specifically, Istanbul. Istanbul is an iconic city that is often referred to as the bridge between the East and West. Just like Athens, it is one of the oldest cities in Europe.
Turkey is a wonderful country to visit, but in terms of city exploration, Istanbul should be further up the list. You have the Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern, The Blue Mosque, Hagia Grand Mosque, and Remeli Fortress.
8. London, England
Up next is the capital of England, London. Voted for being the best city in the world ten years in a row. Now, London is a very large city and you can’t do everything in one sitting, however, there are a lot of things to do regarding the history of London and England. Some of those include the National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London. There is a lot more to see and do as well so you may want to spend a long weekend.

Paris is also another great historical city and probably the most popular in Europe, excluding London. Plus, Paris has been through a lot of different eras such as the Renaissance, the reigns of Kings and Queens, democratic revolutions, the Reign of Napoleon, how it influenced the American Revolution, and two world wars. France has certainly seen it all, especially Paris so there is a lot to learn when you visit this city.
There is one thing that is loved in Paris and that is Art. You have the Louvre, Musee des Archives and many more Art Museums where you can learn about the history of both Paris and fine art.
10. Budapest, Hungary
Last but certainly not least is Budapest. Again, there is plenty to offer in terms of historical buildings and landmarks. For those who love castles, you have the Buda Castle and the Vörös Sün ház. You also have the Hungarian Parliament Building, Fisherman’s Boston, and Liberty Statue. You also have the Hungarian State Opera and The Church of Lady of Buda Castle.
Budapest has so much to offer and it is very affordable compared to the other cities. Furthermore, the temperature is much more comfortable compared to some of the other cities which we have mentioned so if you wish for a cooler city break, Budapest is the perfect destination.
