Places to visit in Jaipur
Hawa Mahal
The most famous being the Hawa Mahal takes about an hour or so to visit this place. It is beautifully called the palace of winds having 953 windows, the windows built so that the winds blew inside the palace. This kind and interesting consideration was made especially for summer for many Rajput families that they would come to the palace and enjoy such a pleasure. What interests them the most is that this was specifically built for the Royal ladies, the consideration here was the pleasure to watch the beauty of the city through these windows. Many even believe that the palace looks like Lord Krishna’s crown reason being Sawai Pratap Singh a major devotee of Lord Krishna. Hawa Mahal has 5 floors but the interesting thing about this mahal is that it has no staircase to reach the top floors like seriously no staircase. This is because in the olden times instead of staircases Ramps were made to climb the top floors, ramps are like the big slide kind of way to climb. If you wanna visit this place then go for the early morning hours when the mahal is illuminated by the bright yet beautiful sun rays.
Jal Mahal
The next place you should visit is the Jal mahal. The visitors are not allowed to enter the Jal mahal, they can see the view through boating as it has been declared as a protected area. Jal Mahal as its name suggests was never built to be a mahal, it was just like a lodge for Maharaja. Earlier the visitors would visit the place but with time visitors were prohibited.
Amer Fort
The following visit should be to Amer Fort. This fort is on a hill so if you wanna reach this place you will have to walk up the hill or go by jeep, golf cart. One of the main attractions of the Amer Fort is the elephants. One of the most adventurous ideas to go up the hill is by riding an elephant. Many people find it attractive and visit the fort because of this reason also after all who wouldn’t wanna see the view, sitting on an elephant. One of the most beautiful attractions of Amer Fort is the sheesh mahal that is made up of thousands of mirror tiles along with coloured glasses on the walls and ceilings making everyone visiting there spell bounded as they see the natural light from outside illuminating everything on the inside by reflecting on the mirrors. The Amer fort can be visited during the morning hours and the evening hours also depending on your interest. If you want to see the lighting show then the evening is a good time to visit.
Jaigarh Fort
The Jaigarh Fort was built in order to protect the Amer Fort, the place was a storehouse for war armours, arms, and canons in the earlier times and till date, it is known to be as one of the strongest monuments of Jaipur with a majestic name the Victory Palace. It is believed and known that the Amer fort has a tunnel that was a secret tunnel in the old times which would connect to Jaigarh fort at the end of the tunnel making it even more worth visiting. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that the windows of this fort are made of lattices, meaning, it allows one to see the whole exterior areas but nothing, nothing can be observed within from the outside. One of the most amazing things about this fort is that it contains the world’s largest canon.
